Clean the ashes after the incense burns, make sure the hole is not blocked.

There is absolutely no scent to the incense and it is a proprietry style of incense not useable with any other cone insence.. Most disappointing...
I was afraid this was too small. It is small but I love how little space it takes up and is as lovely to watch as my larger one which takes up too much space.

Incense smells so awful. I made my room smell so bad with this. But if you like it, then I guess it's good - it's also a really cool gift and it's definitely worth the price. It's very small, but it's cute for a desktop thing. If you don't have any air movement in your room at all, that is. It's not a fault of the product though so I can't take stars off for it, but if you have fans or air conditioning this just won't work because it'll blow the smoke away and you won't get the pooling effect.
The quality was good but it is certainly small.
